ClickPopContest Reminder

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

dice2.jpg

Sawubona people. Just wanted to remind everyone that there’s only one more week to enter our first ever, super-fun-time contest. A quick rundown of the rules and guidelines are below.

Rules:

  1. Deadline is April 5th
  2. You can only use ClickPopMedia vectors and elements you personally create. In most cases, we really have no way to check this; so we’re on the honor system people.
  3. The composition can be either still or animated.
    • Send us stills as png’s or jpg’s.
    • Send us animations as either swf’s, or mov’s.
  4. The composition can be any size and shape. Use common sense with this rule. If you send us a 1px by 1px image, we probably won’t look at it. Likewise, if you send us a 100 ft by 100ft submission, it’s safe to say it won’t be considered.
  5. Send your submissions to design@clickpopmedia.com with your contact details.
  6. HAVE FUN.

We will be judging on hipness, coolness, mad skill level, and general breathtakingness.

The Prize:

The winner of this contest will receive a shiny pair of our custom ClickPopMedia dice (pictured in the header). These little beauties come in a beautiful transparent case complete with moocard. The winner can choose either a blue dice/black dice or a pink dice/black dice combination.

Disclaimer: By submitting to this contest, entrant grants ClickPopMedia the right to display entries on http://www.clickpopmedia.com.

Sparrows and Nightingales

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

“This is the genealogy of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran begot Lot. And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans…And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan…and Terah died in Haran.”

Genesis 11:27-32

As I read this passage I can’t help but notice how rough life was even for the guys and gals in the Bible.

Followed by the introduction of a dad (Terah), and his three sons (Abram, Nahor, and Haran), we go on a rollercoaster ride of news, rising high on emotion as Baby Lot is born to Haran, and then the devastating fall out of Haran’s death. I’m sure Terah was grieved over the fact his youngest died before him. Soon after these events the family is uprooted to a new place. While en route Terah dies, and Abram is thrust into the position of “Head of the Household”. Not only is Abram trying to pick up the pieces of a broken and grieving family, he’s also in a foreign land separated from everything he was once familiar with. To add insult to injury he discovers his wife cannot bear children, bringing the dilemma of not being able to continue the family name (which was a big deal in the ancient Middle East).

Cutting!!! The non-painful kind…

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

The technique you’re gonna watch (and hopefully learn) today is called “cutting.” It’s an indispensable tool in any graffiti writers toolbox. The man behind the video this fine day is a guest to our lovely site, he’s also the man responsible for that killer piece at the header.

His tag is FASM (it stands for Faith Alone Saved Me) and he’s a long time member of the very international Gospel Graffiti Crew. You can check out more of his work at www.gospelgraffiti.com or www.FASM.net.

And now for some schooling…

Hope you learned a little something new… God bless you all and have a lovely day.

UPDATE: Free Spring Day Vectors – And A Contest

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Header

Hello Springtime! In recognition of the change of seasons, our vectors for this week were all pulled from a spring day. We’re also having a CONTEST!

Spring! But first, our vectors. To start off we netted four clouds, one happy, one sad, one whistling, and one furious. Then we put on our oven mitts and plucked the smiling sun from the sky. We also pulled up an evergreen tree, and snagged a cutiful little bunny. As always, have fun and let us see anything wonderful you make.
