Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

The order of the day is more pixel patterns. Some time has passed (a couple days) since our last set, we’re a little older, a little wiser, and we think these pattern’s are even neato-er than the last batch. Enjoy this round of ornamental patterns.

To download, right click on the title of the patter you like and select “Save Link As…” from the drop-down menu. To use, either make a new Pattern in Photoshop or Illustrator, or use your imagination.

Jars, bananas, and other ways to die… (Genesis 13:10-13)

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

“And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord.”

Genesis 13:10-13

In Africa there is a popular fable told of the greedy monkey. One day the monkey went out and found a jar buried in the ground with only the mouth protruding the surface of the earth. The monkey approached and to his delight found that in the jar were fresh bananas. Cupping his hand, he slid it through the narrow opening and grabbed the bunch of bananas. When removing his hand he realized that the mouth was too small for his greedy grasp to escape. Not wanting to let go of his lust the monkey was trapped unto his own destruction as the hunter approached.

Internal PreLoading in ActionScript 3

Making a preloader in ActionScript 3 is more difficult to figure out then it was in ActionScript 2, but the code itself is not any harder.

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

“There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the sacred home of the Most High. God himself lives in that city; it cannot be destroyed or shaken. God will protect it at the break of day.”

Genesis 46:4-5

ClickPop Pixel Patterns - My First Four

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Today we’re offering up our first set of pixel patterns. We have some more neato patters that will be up in the future, and when I say neato, that’s with a capital “N” and an exclamation point(!) at the end. Have fun with these, they make a cool backgrounds. The top is the first pixel pattern I made, the second is weird, and the third and fourth are vine patters, one straight and one staggered.

To download, right click on the title of the patter you like and select “Save Link As…” from the drop-down menu. To use, either make a new Pattern in Photoshop or Illustrator, or use your imagination.

Spring Animation with ActionScript 3

Friday, April 4th, 2008

In celebration of our little vector contest I thought I would unofficially submit my own entry.

I made this animation using our Spring Time vector pack. It’s about 360Kbs, but once it’s loaded click Play to get it started, then you can press the Left or Right arrows to control the little bunny.

I’ll walk you through the process I went through to create this here game/animation.
